Melinda A. Taylor, Ph.D.
Senior Research Scientist II
Dr. Taylor has been working in the K-12 large-scale summative assessment industry for over 10 years. A graduate of James Madison University, Dr. Taylor interned at both the Center for Assessment in New Hampshire and the South Carolina Department of Education before starting her career at the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction, where she was psychometric lead for the state’s alternate assessment program for students with the most significant cognitive disabilities. A move to Pearson brought 6 years of increasing responsibility with general assessments, where she served as the lead psychometrician for a complex statewide assessment program. Dr. Taylor has also served as a peer reviewer for the United States Department of Education’s review of the technical quality of state summative assessments under the regulations of No Child Left Behind and, more recently, of the Every Student Succeeds Act.
