Prior to joining NWEA, Dr. Jonghwan (Jay) Lee was a Sr. Psychometrician at Questar Assessment, Inc. where he conducted all psychometric-related tasks for various state assessment programs. These tasks included item analysis, calibration and equating, standard setting, constructing psychometric guidelines for form construction, and creating annual technical reports. Dr. Lee’s research interests include sub-score reporting, the impact of technology-enhanced items on student assessment performance, and creating reasonable raw-to-scale score (RSS) conversions using the 3PL model. Dr. Lee received a doctoral degree in Measurement and Quantitative Methods from Michigan State University. He also has a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Computer Engineering from the Ohio State University.
